As the current Board President of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District (CLPCCD), Linda Granger has had a key role in guiding the district. By working side by side with fellow Trustees, faculty, students, and administrators, CLPCCD remains a place where all students can succeed. Through strategic and fiscally responsible budgeting and strong leadership, CLPCCD continues to offer the programs and support systems students need to achieve their educational goals.

Recent accomplishments to highlight:

Enrollment is Up  

Due to the COVID pandemic, Chabot-Las Positas Community College District had an approximately 20% drop in enrollment. In the 2025-2026 academic year, enrollment has now exceeded pre-pandemic levels and the District is one of the fastest-growing in the state, with 37% growth over the last four years and a 5% increase in the last year.

Increasing Access for Students

CLPCCD added a winter intersession to help students make continued progress toward their educational goals. Additionally, the number of students receiving financial aid has increased by 39% over the last three years. In the last year, the number of students with educational plans increased by 10%, and students without an educational plan dropped to 27%, meaning more students have personalized steps to achieve their goals, whether that be to obtain a credential or transfer to a 4-year college. The number of high school students dually enrolled is also up 80% in the last three years, allowing students to get a head start on college credits. Nearly 1,500 students participated in the growing program last year.

Protecting Programs and Jobs

The District successfully navigated through a statewide change in the community college funding formula that initially negatively impacted CLPCCD. During this time, the district remained focused on maintaining programs and services for students, and the district managed these changes without laying off any employees.

Expanding Workforce Development Programs

CLPCCD has expanded its apprenticeship programs, making it the largest LEA (Local Education Agency) in Alameda County, and has focused on adding innovative apprenticeship programs, such as a behavioral health apprenticeship program in partnership with Kaiser.

Saving Taxpayers Dollars 

In 2016, voters passed Measure A, a $950 million bond measure to improve classrooms and to update college facilities throughout the district. Because of the strong fiscal management of the district, CLPCCD was able to secure lower borrowing costs than expected, save taxpayers millions of dollars over time, while still being able to continue to make investments in facilities that support students.

• Maintain a focus on student academic vision for success and excellence.
